Russians, whose doors to Europe were closed because of the war, have broken through to Turkey.
The tourism sector will attract 1 million Russian tourists in the period from November 1, 2022 to April 1, 2023.

Recall that private airlines have suspended flights to Russia because of the embargo imposed by the U.S. and Europe, and Turkish Airlines (THY) stepped in to solve the problem. An accommodation agreement was signed with leading Russian giants Turkish tour operators Anex, Pegas and Coral. The scope of this agreement was expanded to include the winter season.

According to Betül Alakent news from Sabah, the biggest operation to attract 1 million Russian tourists is planned in Antalya. In this regard, it is planned to attract 500 thousand Russian tourists to Antalya. According to information received from Anex Tour representatives, THY will operate only 10 flights a day to Antalya. These planes will carry an average of 2 thousand Russian tourists, and will bring 60 thousand Russians per month. With the addition of flights of other airlines is planned to bring 100,000 Russian tourists a month to Antalya. Anex officials said, “We expect to be able to easily catch 100,000 Russian tourists a month in Antalya. We can see 600-650 thousand, exceeding 500 thousand in 5 months.”
After Antalya, most flights will go to Istanbul. Turkish tour operators said that Russians going to Europe for skiing will also curtail their route to Turkey this year. Explaining that Russians coming to Istanbul will go to Turkey’s leading ski centers such as Kayseri Erciyes, Bursa Uludag and Erzurum Palandöken, operators state that demand for ski resorts is also high.

Pegas Touristik’s CIS coordinator Orhan Sankar said that Turkey will be a gathering place for Russian sports clubs this year. Sankar said: “Previously, Russian sports clubs preferred countries such as Switzerland, Austria, Estonia and Slovenia for camping. This year, cities such as Antalya, Mugla and Izmir are the target of Russian sports clubs. About 100 thousand Russian athletes will come. to our country with clubs”.
